Island Grill is the flagship restaurant of the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London and has been serving up steaks and hearty British classics to the city of London for over 7 years now, having become a bit of an institution in the Paddington/Bayswater abyss of an area in London.
Head chef here at Island Grill is Adam Woolven who began his career in Royal Lancaster London’s apprentice scheme, before being promoted to sous chef in 2013 and then the role of Head Chef.
A golden crumb coated Devonshire crab cake served on a bed of guacamole and sweet chilli jam.
The smoked element was of just the right amount and everything was perfectly seasoned – with a little salt, pepper, shallots, dill, capers and drizzle of lemon.
For steak lovers it’s the perfect retreat – washed down with a few too many glasses of good wine.
Island Grill, Paddington
Island Grill, at the iconic mid-century Lancaster London, is a mere ten paces from Lancaster Gate Underground Station and offers a contemporary split-level dining space.
With its own private entrance opposite Hyde Park, it presents a modern European menu which changes with each season as part of its dedication to sustainability.
Island Grill’s breakfast menu features dishes such as eggs benedict, with ham and a poached egg on a toasted muffin, accompanied by a homemade hollandaise sauce; golden fried brioche with fruit salad and maple syrup; and porridge with berry compote, banana and honey, which is produced by the Lancaster London’s own colony of bees.

Private parties are welcome – with exclusive use of the restaurant available for groups between 40 and 55 people.
Numbers below these can also hire the space for a private dining experience (T&C apply).
Smaller parties are also welcome to enjoy their meal in the restaurant at an allocated table, without room hire.
